Rockies 7, Giants 4: DJ LeMahieu's go-ahead RBI single highlighted a five-run ninth inning as Colorado recorded an improbable victory in San Francisco.

After pinch-hitter Ryan Wheeler delivered a two-run single to make it 4-4 with one out, LeMahieu's soft liner to center against closer Sergio Romo (3-2) helped the Rockies win for the fourth time in their last 19 games at AT&T Park. Pinch-hitter Michael McKenry added an RBI single during the uprising.

Justin Morneau had two hits and two RBIs for Colorado, which began a six-game road trip with its third straight victory and fourth in 15 games. Matt Belisle (1-2) earned the victory after striking out two in a perfect eighth inning before LaTroy Hawkins retired the side in order in the ninth to earn his 12th save in 13 chances.

Michael Morse recorded two hits and two RBIs while Hunter Pence had two hits, scored twice and drove in a run as the first-place Giants lost for the fourth time in their last five games. Starter Tim Lincecum yielded two runs and three hits while striking out six in six innings, and retired the final 10 batters he faced.

Morneau delivered a two-out two-run single in the third before Pence and Morse answered with RBI singles in the bottom half. Morse's two-out run-scoring double in the fifth gave San Francisco a 3-2 lead, and Pence doubled, daringly advanced to third on a groundout to shortstop and scored on a wild pitch in the seventh.
