Giants 5, Rockies 1: Hunter Pence, Pablo Sandoval and Brandon Crawford homered as visiting San Francisco evened the three-game series, but the victory proved costly as starter Matt Cain and reliever Santiago Casilla left with injuries.

Cain didn't allow a hit before leaving with a right hamstring injury after striking out Charlie Blackmon to end the third. Casilla suffered what appeared to be a serious leg injury after he stumbled over first base while bouncing out to end the ninth and rolled around on the ground for several moments in obvious pain.

Hector Sanchez added an RBI double and Yusmeiro Petit (3-1) earned the victory after relieving Cain and yielding two hits while striking out two in three innings. Jhoulys Chacin (0-3) allowed three runs and four hits in 5 2/3 innings for Colorado, which lost for only the third time in its last 11 home games.

Pence belted the first pitch of the fourth inning - a fastball down the middle - over the wall in left-center for the game's first hit. Colorado, which had won its previous two games in walk-off fashion, didn't record its first hit until Wilin Rosario blooped a two-out single into left-center in the fifth.

Sandoval took an 0-1 offering the opposite way with two outs in the sixth. Michael Morse followed with a double to right-center to chase Chacin, and Sanchez greeted Nick Masset with a two-base hit to left-center before Crawford belted Matt Belisle's 3-2 pitch over the wall in right with one out in the seventh to make it 4-0.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Colorado loaded the bases with none out in the eighth inning before SS Crawford snared Michael Cuddyer's grounder up the middle and flipped the ball out of his glove to 2B Brandon Hicks, who caught it with his bare hand and completed the double play. ... Giants CF Angel Pagan (left shoulder) returned after sitting out Tuesday's game and went 0-for-4, while C Buster Posey (back) missed his second straight contest. ... Rockies LF Carlos Gonzalez departed after seven innings because of left index finger inflammation.
