Rangers 5, Rockies 0: Prince Fielder homered and five pitchers combined on a five-hitter as host Texas cooled off Colorado and salvaged the finale of their four-game home-and-home series.

Matt Harrison (1-0) yielded three hits and four walks in 5 1/3 innings for the Rangers, who won for only the third time in their last 11 games. Nick Martinez, Aaron Poreda, Jason Frasor and Joakim Soria finished off the first shutout of the Rockies this season while Leonys Martin and Michael Choice also drove in runs.

Nolan Arenado set a team record and extended the longest active hitting streak in the major leagues to 28 games for the Rockies, who lead the majors with 5.8 runs per contest and scored 29 in winning the first three games of the series. Franklin Morales (3-2) allowed five runs (four earned) and six hits in six-plus innings.

Alex Rios (two hits) began Texas' two-run second with a one-out double to left and scored on Martin's single to right. Martin advanced to second on a balk, stole third while Elvis Andrus struck out and trotted home when catcher Michael McKenry's throw sailed into left field.

The Rangers preserved the shutout in the seventh when Rios caught Charlie Blackmon's fly ball in right and threw out McKenry at the plate as the play was upheld after a video review. Fielder took Morales out to right for his first homer since April 19 in the sixth and Texas put it away with two runs in the seventh.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Colorado 1B Justin Morneau (.331, seven homers, 26 RBIs), who is 2-for-11 lifetime against Harrison, was scratched from the starting lineup with a stiff neck. ... Texas placed INF Donnie Murphy on the 15-day disabled list with a neck strain and called up 20-year-old INF Rougned Odor (pronounced ROOG-ned o-DOOR), who went 0-for-4 in his major league debut. ... Arenado, who is hitting .360 during the streak, broke the previous team record of 27 games set by teammate Michael Cuddyer last season.
