Mitch Moreland and Alex Rios had three RBIs apiece as visiting Texas torched Justin Verlander to rout Detroit for the third time in four days.

Elvis Andrus and Shin-Soo Choo each scored three times and Michael Choice homered as the Rangers racked up 17 hits, two shy of their season high reached on Saturday. Adrian Beltre (two RBIs), Robinson Chirinos and Moreland had three hits apiece and Andrus, Rios and Rougned Odor all had two.

Verlander (5-4) allowed nine runs (six earned) and 11 hits in 5 1/3 innings as the Tigers lost for the sixth time in seven games while failing to cool down the Texas bats. The Rangers outscored Detroit 35-15 in the series and scored nine or more runs in all three of their victories.

Colby Lewis (4-3) allowed two runs and five hits in 5 2/3 innings as the beneficiary of the latest offensive splurge. Texas led 3-2 before scoring five times in the fifth on RBI singles by Moreland and Beltre, a two-run triple by Rios and a run-scoring single by Chirinos.

Andrus and Moreland stroked back-to-back doubles in the sixth to make it 9-2. Andrus, Moreland and Beltre had consecutive run-scoring singles in the seventh to push the margin to 10.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Tigers DH Miguel Cabrera departed with a cramp in his right hamstring after singling in the seventh and RHP Joba Chamberlain (ankle) was removed in the eighth. … Detroit 2B Ian Kinsler went 8-for-17 in the series, his first against his former club. … Texas had 57 hits in the four-game series while Detroit has allowed 57 runs over the last seven games.
