Reds 6, Pirates 3: Kristopher Negron belted a three-run homer in his first major-league start and Todd Frazier added a two-run shot as host Cincinnati secured two of three from its National League Central rival.

Devin Mesoraco had an RBI double and joined rookie Billy Hamilton and Chris Heisey with multiple hits and a run scored for the Reds, who have won seven of nine overall and nine of 13 versus Pittsburgh this season. Johnny Cueto (10-6) emerged victorious in his fourth straight start at home and improved to 16-4 in his career against the Pirates after allowing three runs on five hits in six innings.

Neil Walker homered to lead off the sixth inning and Josh Harrison had an RBI single among his two hits for Pittsburgh, which has dropped five of seven. After getting the better of Jonathan Broxton on Saturday, the reliever retired the side in order in the eighth before Aroldis Chapman fanned all three batters in the ninth for his 21st save.

Promoted from Triple-A Louisville last week, Negron made an immediate impact in the second by depositing a 1-1 changeup from Francisco Liriano (1-7) over the wall in right-center field. Liriano, who returned to the rotation after missing a month with an oblique strain, permitted three runs on as many hits but was pulled after four innings as his pitch count elevated to 94 due to six walks.

Walker's homer trimmed Cincinnati's lead to 4-3, but Frazier answered in the bottom of the sixth by lifting Vance Worley's first-pitch slider just over the wall in right for his team-leading 19th homer. Frazier also went deep with a three-run shot in Saturday's 6-5 loss in 11 innings.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cincinnati RHP Alfredo Simon was informed prior to the contest that he made the National League All-Star team as a replacement player. ... Liriano also issued six walks in five innings en route to a 3-2 setback to San Diego on June 4. ... The game was delayed 56 minutes in the top of the fifth inning by rain.
