Reds 8, Brewers 3: Cincinnati homered in the fifth, sixth and eighth innings, with pinch hitter Brayan Pena's go-ahead, two-run blast in the eighth providing the difference in a home win over Milwaukee.

Homers by Tucker Barnhart and Todd Frazier staked the Reds to a two-run lead before the Brewers tied things up, setting the stage for Pena's shot off Jim Henderson (2-1) with one out in the eighth. Cincinnati added three more runs later in the frame and Jonathan Broxton had no issues in the ninth in wrapping up the Reds' second win in six games.

The eighth-inning rally made a winner of Homer Bailey (2-2), who allowed three runs and eight hits over a season-high eight innings. Frazier finished with two hits and three RBIs, while Chris Heisey and Zack Cozart each added two hits and scored a run for Cincinnati.

Barnhart's first career home run made it 1-1 in the fifth and Frazier's two-run shot an inning later created a 3-1 advantage for Cincinnati, which torched Henderson for five runs in two-thirds of an inning after Milwaukee had drawn even. Pena's shot just over the right-field wall snapped the tie before Rob Wooten walked in a run and allowed two more to score on a single by Ryan Ludwick.

Both teams' center fielders made terrific catches in the first inning, with Cincinnati's Billy Hamilton making a full-extension diving grab in the top half before Carlos Gomez robbed Joey Votto of a home run shortly thereafter. Jean Segura's RBI single through the left side in the second gave the Brewers a 1-0 lead and Gomez forged a 3-3 tie with his two-run double in the seventh.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hamilton exited in the middle of the first inning with a left hand injury suffered on his diving catch. ... The Reds had scored five runs or fewer in nine consecutive games. ... Brewers RHP Marco Estrada was charged with three runs, six hits and four walks in six frames.
