Reds 4, Indians 0: Homer Bailey struck out eight over seven innings and rookie Billy Hamilton had an RBI triple as host Cincinnati posted its third straight win over Cleveland to capture the Ohio Cup.

Ryan Ludwick and rookie Kris Negron each recorded an RBI single for the Reds, who have won eight straight home meetings with their Buckeye State rival. Cincinnati remained four games behind first-place Milwaukee in the National League Central and three back in the race for the second wild card.

Yan Gomes singled to lead off the seventh inning and extend his career-high hitting streak to 13 contests for the Indians, who are 6 1/2 games behind first-place Detroit in the American League Central and four out in the chase for the second wild card.

After a string of four consecutive no-decisions, Bailey (9-5) recorded his first victory since tossing a complete-game gem versus San Francisco on June 29. The 28-year-old scattered four hits and Manny Parra bridged the gap to Jonathan Broxton, who struck out a pair in the ninth in a non-save situation.

Cincinnati jumped out of the blocks in a hurry as Hamilton scored on an error before Jay Bruce came home on Ludwick's single to left field in the first inning. Hamilton gave the Reds a 3-0 lead in the second with a triple to center off rookie T.J. House (1-3) before being thrown out at the plate.

GAME NOTEBOOK: House permitted four runs - three earned - and eight hits in six innings to take the loss for the Indians, who travel to New York to open a three-game series with the Yankees on Friday. ... Cleveland acquired Michael Clevinger from the Los Angeles Angels for fellow RHP Vinnie Pestano. ... The Reds continue their seven-game homestand by beginning a three-game series versus Miami on Friday.
