Dodgers 1, Indians 0:
Clint Robinson drove in a run with his first major-league hit and Dan Haren tossed seven shutout innings as host Los Angeles blanked Cleveland.

Andre Ethier tripled off the glove of Indians left fielder Michael Brantley to lead off the seventh and pinch hitter Hanley Ramirez was intentionally walked with two out to set the stage for the game’s lone run. Robinson sent a 3-2 pitch from Corey Kluber (7-6) up the middle for a ground single to plate Ethier as the Dodgers sent the Indians to their seventh loss in nine games.

Haren (8-4) gave up just one hit and one walk and struck out five while winning his third straight decision. The victory was the 13th in 17 games for Los Angeles, which moved into first place in the National League West and possesses a half-game lead over the San Francisco Giants.

Haren retired the final 13 batters he faced before Brian Wilson sailed through a perfect eighth and Kenley Jansen worked a flawless ninth for his 25th save as the final 19 Cleveland hitters went down in order. Kluber gave up one run and six hits in 6 2/3 innings while losing for the third time in four decisions.

Cleveland’s lone hit was Michael Bourn’s infield single in the third and the Indians has runners on second and third with two out in that same inning but came up empty when Asdrubal Cabrera struck out. The Dodgers had runners on second and third with one out in the fourth before Ethier struck out and Juan Uribe flew to center.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Bourn was originally called out at first on his third-inning single but the Indians challenged the call and it was reversed. … Ramirez (calf) wasn’t in the starting lineup for the sixth time in seven games and manager Don Mattingly continues to insist Ramirez won’t require a stint on the 15-day disabled list. … The contest marked the second straight game in which Cleveland had just one hit – 3B Lonnie Chisenhall had the lone safety in Sunday’s 3-0 loss to Seattle.
