White Sox 5, Cubs 1:
Gordon Beckham matched a career high with four hits, including a go-ahead home run leading off the eighth inning, as the visiting White Sox beat the Cubs for the second straight night.

Moises Sierra went a career-best 4-for-4 and Jordan Danks drove home a pair in the ninth for the White Sox. The late outburst spoiled a strong start from Cubs right-hander Edwin Jackson, who had a season-high nine strikeouts while allowing one run on six hits over seven innings.

The Cubs managed only four singles against starter Hector Noesi and three relievers combined for four hitless innings, with former Cub Zach Putnam (1-0) throwing two perfect frames for the win. The White Sox have allowed only two runs in the first two games of the Crosstown Cup series, which shifts from Wrigley Field to U.S. Cellular Field for the final two contests Wednesday and Thursday.

The White Sox scored first on Alexei Ramirez's run-scoring grounder in the fourth, but the Cubs knotted it an inning later when Emilio Bonifacio lofted a soft liner to right to score Junior Lake. Beckham snapped the tie with a blast to left on a 1-2 slider from Neil Ramirez (0-1).

The White Sox broke it open in the ninth, when Ramirez walked and Sierra singled to start the inning against Pedro Strop, who then allowed an RBI double to Tyler Flowers and Danks' two-run double to left. Strop then left with an undisclosed injury.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Cubs honored retiring White Sox 1B/DH Paul Konerko in a pregame ceremony and presented him with a No. 14 scoreboard tile to commemorate his final game at Wrigley Field. … White Sox slugger Adam Dunn originally was slated to make a rare start in left field, but was a late scratch because of a bruised right calf. … Sierra was 2-for-35 on the season before his outburst and Danks snapped an 0-for-18 skid with his two-run double.
