Rangers 12, White Sox 0: Leonys Martin went 3-for-5 with a homer and four RBIs and Robinson Chirinos hit a two-run blast among three hits as host Texas routed Chicago.

Martin Perez (3-0) was the beneficiary of all the offense while throwing the first shutout and second complete game of his major-league career. Perez struck out eight and allowed three hits and one walk as the Rangers won their fourth straight game.

Alex Rios (two RBIs) and Jim Adduci (two runs scored) also had three hits as the Rangers racked up 18 hits in the opener of the three-game series. Kevin Kouzmanoff added two hits and two RBIs to extend his hitting streak to nine games and Prince Fielder reached base five times on two hits, two walks and a hit by pitch.

Martin began the scoring in a seven-run third inning with a two-run triple to make it 4-0 and Chirinos followed with his homer off Felipe Paulino (0-2). Rios had a two-run single and Fielder added a double to make it 9-0 and Martin continued his strong performance with a homer in the fourth and a run-scoring single in the sixth.

Paulino allowed 10 runs and 13 hits in 3 2/3 innings in his third consecutive poor performance as his ERA soared to 11.29. Shortstop Alexei Ramirez went 1-for-3 to extend his franchise record hitting streak to start a season to 17 games.
