Braves 4, Marlins 2: Evan Gattis hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the ninth as visiting Atlanta completed the three-game sweep.

Gattis cranked a line drive off Miami closer Steve Cishek (4-2) after Freddie Freeman singled to start the ninth. Alex Wood (5-5) earned the victory with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief, Tommy La Stella finished with two hits for Atlanta, and rookie Shae Simmons worked around two hits and a walk in the ninth for his first major-league save.

Marcell Ozuna homered among his two hits and Garrett Jones added a pair of hits for Miami, which has lost four in a row at home and five of its past six. Marlins starter Nathan Eovaldi allowed two runs on six hits with four strikeouts and no walks in eight innings, but Cishek was tagged for two runs on three hits in the ninth.

Freeman steered a single to center off Cishek and Gattis followed with his 11th homer of the season, on a 2-0 pitch, above the left-center field fence. Simmons, working the ninth after Craig Kimbrel had pitched three consecutive games, surrendered a leadoff single to Ozuna but got a double-play ball from Adeiny Hechavarria, then walked Jeff Mathis and allowed a single to pinch-hitter Reed Johnson before getting Christian Yelich to hit into a game-ending fielder’s choice.

The Marlins jumped ahead 2-0 in the second when Jones doubled and Ozuna hammered an Aaron Harang breaking ball over the fence in left-center for his 10th homer of the season. Atlanta answered quickly in the top of the third with Jason Heyward’s looping single scoring La Stella from third and Andrelton Simmons coming home to tie the game at 2-2 on a B.J. Upton fielder's choice.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Harang pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on five hits with four walks and two strikeouts. … La Stella posted his third multi-hit day in his fifth major-league contest. … Cishek had not allowed a homer all season until Gattis’ shot in the ninth.
