Brewers 6, Braves 1: Mark Reynolds hit a first-inning grand slam and Kyle Lohse pitched eight dominant innings as visiting Milwaukee snapped a four-game losing streak.

Reynolds’ ninth homer of the season gave Lohse (6-1) a 4-0 lead before the right-hander took the mound, where he held Atlanta to one run on four hits with no walks and eight strikeouts. Carlos Gomez added a two-run homer, finishing 3-for-5 with two runs scored, and Scooter Gennett added two hits.

Justin Upton went 3-for-4 with an RBI double for the Braves, who had scored 20 runs in winning their past three games. Ervin Santana (4-2) struggled for the second straight start, allowing six runs on nine hits with four walks in seven innings.

Santana ran into trouble from the beginning, giving up a single, double and walk before Reynolds smacked the first pitch he saw into the left-field seats, his third career grand slam putting the Brewers ahead 4-0. Atlanta scored in the first on back-to-back doubles from Freddie Freeman and Upton to make it 4-1.

But Lohse retired 16 of the next 17 hitters he faced, and Gomez hit his 10th homer of the season in the fourth to push Milwaukee’s advantage to 6-1. The Brewers improved to 24-1 when scoring four runs or more.
