Braves 5, Brewers 0: Julio Teheran fired a complete-game shutout to win his first game in more than a month while Andrelton Simmons and Justin Upton homered as host Atlanta won its third straight.

Teheran (3-3), winless in his previous five starts dating to a complete-game shutout April 16 at Philadelphia, allowed six hits and two walks with eight strikeouts. Upton finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs, and Simmons and Gerald Laird each added two hits as the National League East-leading Braves captured their second in a row against the NL Central-leading Brewers.

Milwaukee starter Yovani Gallardo (2-3) gave up four runs on four hits, leaving after 3 1/3 innings with a left ankle injury. Jonathan Lucroy finished with two hits for the Brewers, who have scored only five runs during their four-game losing streak.

Simmons led off the third with his fourth homer of the season, and after Ramiro Pena and Freddie Freeman drew walks to load the bases, Upton steered a two-run single to left to put the Braves up 3-0. B.J. Upton scored Atlanta’s fourth run in the fourth when Milwaukee second baseman Scooter Gennett ran into shortstop Jean Segura trying to field Teheran’s ground ball.

Gallardo twisted his ankle on the play as he leaped to try and catch Teheran’s chopper, which was ruled an error on Gennett. Upton lined his 12th homer of the season just inside the right-field foul pole in the fifth off Tyler Thornburg to make it 5-0.

GAME NOTEBOOK: X-rays on Gallardo's ankle came back negative, but Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said his next start is questionable. ... Atlanta C Evan Gattis was scratched minutes before first pitch after he felt sick catching Teheran in the bullpen. … Gallardo is winless in his past eight starts, since beating Boston on April 6. … Teheran posted his ninth quality start in 10 starts this season, lowering his ERA to 1.92.
