Red Sox 4, Braves 0: John Lackey struck out nine in 6 1/3 innings and Jonny Gomes drove in a run and scored twice as Boston dispatched visiting Atlanta to earn its season-high third straight win.

A.J. Pierzynski, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Gomes each had two hits and an RBI and Xander Bogaerts doubled among three hits for the Red Sox, who dropped 10 straight before taking the last three. Lackey (6-3) scattered eight hits and did not walk a batter in his second consecutive scoreless outing.

Gavin Floyd (0-2) was charged with two runs - one earned - on six hits and three walks in five innings for the Braves, who dropped two at home to Boston on Monday and Tuesday before the series shifted to Fenway Park. Tommy La Stella recorded two hits in his major-league debut and Ramiro Pena added a pair of singles for Atlanta.

Boston took advantage of some poor defense in the second when Gomes reached on an infield single, moved to second on Pena’s throwing error, raced to third on a wild pitch and scored when Daniel Nava grounded into a double play. Atlanta center fielder B.J. Upton badly misplayed a ball in the third that left Bogaerts with a double, and he scored on Pierzynski’s single three batters later.

Left-hander Alex Wood came on for the Braves in the sixth and issued a leadoff walk to Gomes, who eventually scored on Bradley’s double to left, and Gomes’ RBI single in the seventh made it a four-run gap. Atlanta squandered its best chance in the seventh when Freddie Freeman grounded out with the bases loaded to end the inning.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Red Sox honored the 2004 World Series championship team in a ceremony prior to the game, including returning stars Manny Ramirez, Pedro Martinez, Curt Schilling and Derek Lowe. … The Braves optioned INF Tyler Pastornicky to Triple-A Gwinnett and recalled 2B La Stella. … Boston placed RHP Clay Buchholz (knee) on the 15-day DL and recalled RHP Alex Wilson from Triple-A Pawtucket.
