Orioles 7, Red Sox 2: Adam Jones hit a pair of two-run homers and Chris Tillman breezed through seven innings as Baltimore evened the three-game series with visiting Boston at one win apiece.

Rookie Christian Walker added his first career home run and Delmon Young scored twice for the Orioles, who remained 2 1/2 games behind the Los Angeles Angels for the best record in the American League. Tillman (13-5) surrendered a first-inning home run by David Ortiz but settled in and held the Red Sox scoreless over the next six frames on a total of five hits.

Ortiz’s blast was his third of the series for Boston, which has dropped three of four. Rubby De La Rosa (4-8) was knocked around for four runs and six hits – two home runs – in four innings as he failed to record an out in the fifth for the third straight start.

Ortiz, whose 10th-inning blast gave the Red Sox a win in the opener on Friday, picked up right where he left off with a two-run blast to right field in the first – his 35th. De La Rosa maintained the advantage until the third, when Young reached with a one-out single and Jones followed by driving a fastball out to right-center.

Walker led off the fourth by lining a 1-2 slider from De La Rosa out to center, and Jonathan Schoop’s sacrifice fly later in the frame pushed the lead to 4-2. Young singled again in the fifth and Jones followed with another two-run blast, this time off right-hander Heath Hembree, to double the advantage.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Jones' third-inning blast marked the 200th of the season for the Orioles, the third year in a row they have reached the plateau. … Baltimore RF Nick Markakis (shoulder) sat out his third straight game while 1B Steve Pearce was a late scratch due to soreness in his right wrist. … Boston RF Jackie Bradley Jr. went 0-for-4 to drop to 1-for-32 since being recalled on Sep. 5.
