Orioles 6, Yankees 1: Nelson Cruz hit his 23rd home run while Adam Jones, Steve Pearce and J.J. Hardy also went deep as visiting Baltimore evened the three-game series.

Bud Norris (7-5) matched a career high with his fourth straight victory before leaving because of groin tightness while warming up prior to the sixth inning. The right-hander allowed one run and three hits while striking out four as Baltimore got back within one game of New York for second place in the American League East.

Mark Teixeira homered for the Yankees, who had won the first four on their six-game homestand and lost for only the third time in their last 11 contests. Vidal Nuno (1-4) extended his winless streak to eight starts after allowing five runs (four earned) and six hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Jones belted Nuno's 3-2 offering out to left - his 13th of the season - with two out in the first. Jones led off the fourth with a walk and Cruz followed by crushing a 1-0 pitch the opposite way to right for a two-run shot, tying Toronto's Edwin Encarnacion for the major league lead in homers and extending Baltimore's lead to 3-0.

Teixeira reached up for a 1-2 fastball well out of the strike zone and deposited it over the wall in right-center in the fourth for his 12th before Pearce's two-run shot in the fifth came on a full count. Hardy delivered his first home run in 88 games on a 2-0 pitch with one out in the eighth to make it 6-1.
