Nationals 5, Diamondbacks 4 (11): Adam LaRoche belted a two-out solo home run in the 11th inning to give host Washington its season-high seventh consecutive victory.

LaRoche launched a 3-1 pitch from Will Harris (0-3) over the wall in right field as the Nationals maintained their six-game lead over Atlanta in the National League East. Wilson Ramos also went deep, Craig Stammen (3-4) escaped a bases-loaded jam in the top of the 11th and Anthony Rendon and Jayson Werth each added an RBI for Washington.

Didi Gregorius and David Peralta homered for the Diamondbacks, who fell to 2-5 on their 10-game road trip. Jake Lamb lifted a sacrifice fly and Miguel Montero collected three hits while Ender Inciarte doubled in the 10th inning to extend his career-best hitting streak to 17 games.

The game was scoreless until the fifth inning, when Mark Trumbo drew a leadoff walk to extend his streak of reaching base safely to 17 contests. Trumbo moved to second on Montero's single and third on a sacrifice by Jordan Pacheco before scoring on Lamb's fly ball to center field.

Washington moved ahead in the seventh on Ramos' two-out, two-run blast, but Gregorius put the Diamondbacks back in front - and ended Jordan Zimmermann's evening - by belting a two-run shot to right with none out in the eighth. Denard Span hit a one-out double in the bottom half and scored on a triple by Rendon, who raced home on Werth's sacrifice fly to give the Nationals a 4-3 edge, but Peralta greeted Tyler Clippard with a leadoff homer in the ninth to forge a tie.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Washington agreed to terms on a minor-league contract with OF Nate Schierholtz, who was designated for assignment by the Chicago Cubs less than two weeks ago. The 30-year-old batted .192 with three home runs and six RBIs in 99 games with Chicago this season. ... Arizona recalled Harris prior to the game and optioned fellow RHP Bradin Hagens to Triple-A Reno. ... Stammen crawled out of the hole he dug for himself in the 11th, recording two strikeouts and a groundout after loading the bases on two hits and a walk. ... Span has hit safely in 21 straight home games.
