Diamondbacks 5, Rockies 3: Miguel Montero continued his assault on Colorado pitching with a three-run homer and rookie Chase Anderson struck out six in six innings to lead host Arizona to its fifth straight victory over the Rockies.

David Peralta delivered an RBI triple, doubled and scored twice - once on a steal of home during a throw from the catcher back to the pitcher - as the Diamondbacks held on to win for the second time in their last seven games. Anderson (7-4) lowered his ERA to 1.80 over his last four starts after yielding one run and four hits.

Michael McKenry homered, while Corey Dickerson and DJ LeMahieu also drove in runs for Colorado, which fell to 2-19 in its last 21 road games and is a major-league worst 17-40 away from home. Rookie Tyler Matzek (2-7) allowed three runs, four hits and five walks in five innings while losing his third straight decision.

Cliff Pennington walked with one out in the first and advanced to third on Peralta's two-base hit before Mark Trumbo struck out on three pitches. Montero belted the next offering out to right for his 12th home run and fourth against the Rockies in 2014 while raising his RBI total against Colorado to 13 in 10 games this season.

McKenry cut the deficit to 3-1 when he hit the first pitch of the fifth over the wall in left. Arizona extended its advantage to 5-1 in the seventh on Peralta's one-out run-scoring triple to right-center before Peralta stole home when he timed McKenry's lazy toss back to reliever Rex Brothers, who fumbled it and could not get off a return throw.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Rockies OF Brandon Barnes delivered his major league-leading 14th pinch hit - a triple in the ninth inning - as Colorado scored twice in the final frame before Addison Reed struck out Charlie Blackmon with the tying run on first to end the game. ... The Diamondbacks loaded the bases with one out in the fifth before Jordan Pacheco hit into a double play after not leaving the batter's box as replays clearly showed the ball went off his leg before rolling into the infield during the non-reviewable play. ... Arizona selected the contracts of OF Xavier Paul and LHP Andrew Chafin from Triple-A Reno and optioned INF Nick Ahmed and OF Roger Kieschnick to Reno.
