Diamondbacks 16, Rockies 8: Miguel Montero went 3-for-4 with a homer and a career-high six RBIs and Paul Goldschmidt had three hits and drove in four runs as visiting Arizona sent reeling Colorado to its sixth straight defeat.

Didi Gregorius homered among his three hits and Gerardo Parra had three hits, scored three times and drove in two as the Diamondbacks squandered a four-run lead before rallying with 11 unanswered runs in the eighth and ninth against the Rockies' beleaguered bullpen. Martin Prado also had three hits as Arizona tied its season high with 21 to hand a win to an ineffective Brad Ziegler (2-1).

Troy Tulowitzki and Michael Cuddyer each had two hits and two RBIs and Drew Stubbs also drove in a pair for Colorado, which lost for the 10th time in 12 games. Rex Brothers (2-4) failed to record an out and was battered for five runs on four hits to take the loss.

The Rockies erased a 4-0 deficit with a pair of four-run innings, tying the score in the fifth on a two-run double by Tulowitzki and a two-run single from Cuddyer. Colorado surged ahead in the seventh when two runs scored on DJ LeMahieu's infield single and a throwing error before Stubbs plated two more runs with a two-out pinch-hit single for an 8-5 lead.

The Diamondbacks stormed back in the eighth against Brothers, who allowed all five batters he faced to score on four straight singles - including Chris Owings' RBI hit - and a bases-loaded walk to Parra. Brothers was replaced by Nick Masset, who was greeted by Goldschmidt's bases-clearing double down the left-field line before Montero's sacrifice fly made it 11-8.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Rockies RHP Jordan Lyles, who allowed four runs (two earned) over four innings, suffered a broken left hand while attempting to tag Prado at home plate on a wild pitch in the first inning. Diamondbacks RHP Josh Collmenter gave up four runs on nine hits over five innings. ... Rockies LF Carlos Gonzalez was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a recurring injury to his left index finger and said he may require surgery. ... Diamondbacks INF Cliff Pennington underwent successful surgery to repair a partially torn ligament in his left thumb Wednesday and will not be able to resume baseball activity for 8-to-10 weeks.
