Diamondbacks 3, Nationals 1: Bronson Arroyo pitched a complete game and went 2-for-3 with a run scored while Paul Goldschmidt broke a tie with his second double of the game as Arizona registered a rare victory at home.

Miguel Montero recorded his 400th career RBI to help the Diamondbacks (16-26) improve to 4-14 at Chase Field. Arroyo (4-2), who is 3-0 with an 0.91 ERA in his last four starts, scattered seven hits while striking out seven in a season-high 110 pitches to record his 16th complete game - and first by an Arizona pitcher in 2014.

Ian Desmond tripled and drove in a run for the Washington, which fell to 1-4 on its six-game road trip. Stephen Strasburg (3-3) allowed three runs and eight hits while striking out six in seven innings as the Nationals lost for the first time in his last five starts.

Washington scored first when Wilson Ramos led off the second with a single and Desmond followed with a line drive to right-center that rolled all the way to the wall. Desmond was stranded after Arroyo struck out Danny Espinosa on three pitches and walked Tyler Moore before Kevin Frandsen hit into a double play.

Arizona tied it in the fourth when Goldschmidt led off with a double to right and Montero singled to center on the next pitch. Arroyo led off the fifth with a single and after Gerardo Parra flew out, Martin Prado singled before Goldschmidt drove them both in when his two-base hit short-hopped the wall in left-center.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Parra had his 10-game hitting streak snapped and didn't reach base after doing so in the previous 19 contests after he was robbed by Frandsen's sliding catch in left in the seventh inning. ... Strasburg fell to 2-1 with a 2.53 ERA in five starts against the Diamondbacks. ... Arroyo was 0-3 with a 5.18 ERA in his previous five outings against Washington.
