Nationals 11, Padres 7: Ryan Zimmerman hit a grand slam and Bryce Harper went 3-for-4 with an RBI as Washington completed a three-game sweep of visiting San Diego.

Anthony Rendon homered and drove in three in support of Stephen Strasburg (5-6), who allowed four runs on seven hits in six innings. That snapped a nine-start streak of yielding two or fewer earned runs for the Nationals’ ace.

Alexi Amarista homered among three hits and Chase Headley went 3-for-5 with an RBI as the Padres suffered their ninth straight loss. Rookie left-hander Robbie Erlin (1-2) had allowed nine earned runs in his first five major-league appearances and matched that total on six hits and four walks in four innings to suffer the loss.

Zimmerman put Washington on top for good and highlighted a six-run third inning when he got a first-pitch fastball from Erlin and sent it the opposite way over the scoreboard in right for his fourth career grand slam. Rendon’s two-run blast into the bullpen in left-center capped the rally.

Amarista hit a two-run shot into the second deck in right in the fourth but the Nationals put four more runs on the board in the fifth and held off San Diego the rest of the way.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Harper is 4-for-6 with four RBIs in the last two games after going 1-for-19 in the previous five. … The Padres have dropped 13 of their last 15 games since pulling two games above .500 on June 21. … San Diego will head home to open a series against Colorado on Monday while the Nationals will travel to Philadelphia.
