Blue Jays 6, Twins 5: Brett Lawrie and Moises Sierra each drove in a pair during Toronto's five-run third inning and R.A. Dickey pitched effectively into the seventh as the Blue Jays held off host Minnesota.
Dickey (12-12) won his third straight start, allowing three runs on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings. Dustin McGowan surrendered a Trevor Plouffe RBI single in the eighth but worked out of further trouble while Casey Janssen overcame Josmil Pinto's first career homer in the ninth to lock down his 28th save.
Mike Pelfrey (5-11) was tagged for six runs - five earned - on six hits over his six-inning stint as he dropped to 1-5 over his last 11 starts.
After Toronto opened the scoring in the first on an Edwin Encarnacion sacrifice fly, the Twins drew even an inning later. Plouffe drilled a one-out double into the right-field corner, advanced on Oswaldo Arcia's single and came around to score on Chris Colabello's base hit to right.
Jose Reyes' RBI single put the Jays back ahead in the third, and Lawrie broke things open with a two-out, two-run single up the middle. Sierra capped the uprising with a double into the gap in right-center that scored Encarnacion and Lawrie, and Dickey allowed just two runners past first base over the next four innings before Colabello blasted a two-run shot to center.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Colabello has three homers and eight RBIs over his last four games. ... The Colabello homer was the 30th Dickey has allowed in 2013, second-most among American League pitchers. Only Oakland's A.J. Griffin (33 entering Friday) has surrendered more. ... Toronto has won eight straight games in Minnesota.
