Cardinals 7, Brewers 6 (10): Carlos Beltran plated Kolten Wong with a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning as visiting St. Louis extended its lead in the National League Central.

After Aramis Ramirez collected his fifth RBI with an infield chopper to forge a 6-6 tie in the ninth inning, former Cardinal Michael Blazek (0-1) promptly struggled in the 10th. Wong worked a lead-off walk and advanced to third on Matt Carpenter's 53rd double of the season before scoring on Beltran's fly ball to deep right field.

Matt Adams capped a three-hit, three-RBI performance by belting a two-run homer to snap a tie in the ninth inning. Matt Holliday recorded a pair of RBI singles among his three hits and Beltran added an RBI double for the Cardinals, who defeated Milwaukee for the 13th time in 17 meetings to move two games ahead of both Cincinnati and Pittsburgh in the division.

Former Brewer John Axford (7-7) picked up the win after working two-thirds of an inning. Carlos Martinez retired the side in order in the 10th to secure his first save.

Ramirez belted a three-run homer and Norichika Aoki collected four hits and scored three times for the Brewers, who fell to 5-3 on their 10-game homestand.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Ramirez gave the Brewers a 3-1 lead in the first inning after depositing an 0-1 curveball from RHP Shelby Miller over the wall in left-center field for his 11th homer. ... With his 30th start, Miller become the first Cardinals rookie pitcher to accomplish the feat since Rick Ankiel in 2000. He permitted four runs on seven hits in six innings to settle for a no-decision. Milwaukee rookie RHP Johnny Hellweg saw his pitch count elevate with five walks, but allowed just two runs on seven hits in five frames. ... Holliday, who went 3-for-5, is 11-for-17 with seven RBIs and six runs scored in his last four games.
