Padres 10, Brewers 8: Carlos Quentin and Jesus Guzman each homered and combined for five RBIs as visiting San Diego outslugged Milwaukee.

Yonder Alonso drove in a pair, Alexi Amarista recorded three hits and an RBI and Everth Cabrera scored three times for the Padres, who took three of four in the series. Edinson Volquez (8-8) allowed three runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings to earn the win and five relievers bridged the gap to Huston Street, who worked a scoreless ninth to earn his 18th save.

Yuniesky Betancourt went 4-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs and Carlos Gomez homered among three hits as the Brewers slipped to 4-3 since the All-Star break.

San Diego had little trouble jumping all over Milwaukee starter Yovani Gallardo (8-9) and surged out to a 6-0 lead in the fourth. Quentin plated the first run with a sacrifice fly in the opening frame and highlighted a three-run rally in the third with a two-run blast over the bullpen in left off a curveball from Gallardo, who was charged with six runs on eight hits in 3 2/3 innings.

The Brewers got on the board on Betancourt’s solo blast in the fourth and added two more runs in the sixth before the Padres exploded for four in the seventh, capped by Guzman’s two-run blast. Milwaukee made things interesting with a five-run uprising in its half of the seventh, and had the tying run on second base before Will Venable made an inning-ending diving grab in center to retire Norichika Aoki, who homered to start the rally.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Padres are averaging 5.6 runs since being no-hit by Tim Lincecum and the San Francisco Giants on July 13. … Gomez is 7-for-9 with three RBIs in the last two games after going 3-for-42 in the previous 12 contests. … San Diego will continue its 10-game road trip at Arizona on Friday while Milwaukee will open a seven-game trip at Colorado.
