Mets 2, Brewers 1:
Jeremy Hefner struck out eight in seven strong innings and Josh Satin doubled in a run as visiting New York took the rubber match of a three-game series from Milwaukee.

Hefner (4-6) allowed a run and two hits while walking one to run his streak of allowing two or fewer earned runs to seven straight starts. David Wright added two hits and Marlon Byrd scored for the Mets while Bobby Parnell recorded the final four outs for his 15th save.

Jonathan Lucroy homered but the Brewers' defense let down starter Tom Gorzelanny (1-2), who was charged with two unearned runs on eight hits in six innings.

Satin doubled with two outs in the fourth and came in to score on third baseman Juan Francisco’s throwing error. Byrd singled and went to second on another error by Francisco in the sixth before coming home on Satin’s double.

Lucroy finally got to Hefner in the seventh, when he blasted an 0-2 fastball out to left-center field.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Milwaukee 3B Aramis Ramirez (knee) missed the game and is day-to-day. … New York RHP Shaun Marcum felt numbness in his pitching hand after his start on Saturday and could be skipped in his next turn. … The Mets will continue their road trip at the San Francisco Giants on Monday while the Brewers will host the Cincinnati Reds.
