Dodgers 5, Phillies 0: Clayton Kershaw scattered three hits over eight innings and added an RBI double as visiting Los Angeles recorded its season-high 10th straight victory and became the third team in 100 years to win 42 contests in a 50-game stretch.

Juan Uribe belted a three-run homer in the ninth inning to cap his three-hit performance. Rookie Yasiel Puig added two hits for the Dodgers, who joined the 1941 New York Yankees and 1942 St. Louis Cardinals by posting a 42-8 mark. Los Angeles, which has shut out the opposition in 27 consecutive innings, also maintained its 8 1/2-game lead over Arizona in the National League West.

The reeling Phillies committed three errors - with the initial one by first baseman John Mayberry Jr. resulting in Carl Crawford scoring to give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Philadelphia's troubles continued as it fell to 0-2 under interim manager Ryne Sandberg and 4-21 in its last 25 contests overall.

Kershaw doubled the advantage after depositing a 3-2 sinker from Kyle Kendrick (10-10) into left field. Uribe provided insurance against Luis Garcia with two outs in the ninth by belting his seventh homer over the wall in left field.

The offense proved more than enough for the Kershaw (12-7), who retired the first 12 batters he faced before allowing Domonic Brown's single to lead off the fifth inning. The 2011 NL Cy Young Award winner struck out eight before Brandon League retired the side in the ninth to preserve the victory.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Kendrick fell for the fourth time in five outings after permitting two runs on seven hits in six innings ... Dodgers OF Andre Ethier returned to the starting lineup after a three-game absence with a bruised left calf. He went 1-for-4. ... Phillies 3B Michael Young exited the contest in the top of the third inning with a sore left calf. He was replaced by 3B John McDonald.
