Mariners 3, Astros 2: Raul Ibanez homered and Hisashi Iwakuma tossed seven strong innings as host Seattle handed Houston its fifth consecutive loss.

Michael Morse had an RBI double and Endy Chavez recorded two hits for the Mariners, who won for just the second time in six games.

The Astros grabbed a 1-0 lead in the third inning on Jose Altuve's sacrifice fly, but Ibanez forged a tie a frame later with his 12th blast. Seattle went ahead in the fifth as Kyle Seager scored on an error, and Morse added an insurance run in the seventh by plating Jason Bay with a two-base hit.

Iwakuma (7-1) won his fifth straight decision, allowing an unearned run and four hits with one walk and eight strikeouts. Carter Capps and Charlie Furbush combined on a scoreless eighth while Tom Wilhelmsen allowed a run in the ninth before notching his 16th save in 19 opportunities.

Dallas Keuchel (3-3) took the loss despite yielding just two runs (one earned) and seven hits over six innings. Pinch-hitter Carlos Corporan delivered an RBI single in the ninth for the Astros, who had more errors (three) than runs scored.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Iwakuma has not allowed an earned run in 22 2/3 innings over his last three starts. ... Astros CF Brandon Barnes returned to the lineup after missing one game with a hamstring injury. ... Houston has scored a total of seven runs during its losing streak.
