Mets 5, Rockies 0:
Matt Harvey pitched a four-hitter for his first career shutout as New York won its second straight at home over Colorado.

Wilmer Flores recorded his first two major-league hits and his two-out, three-run double blew the game open in the eighth inning. John Buck and Omar Quintanilla added RBIs for the Mets, who lost the previous eight meetings with the Rockies at Citi Field prior to Tuesday.

Harvey (9-3), who struck out six and did not walk a batter en route to his first complete game, yielded a single to Wilin Rosario in the second inning and retired 11 in a row after Michael Cuddyer's single in the fourth to win for the first time in three starts. Nolan Arenado and Charlie Blackmon had the other Colorado hits - both singles.

Jhoulys Chacin (10-6) yielded two runs and seven hits in seven innings for the Rockies, who fell to 1-8 on their 10-game road trip while scoring two or fewer runs for the sixth time during that span. Chacin fell to 4-3 with a 1.87 ERA in nine road starts.

The Mets strung three singles together with one out in the second inning, the last by Quintanilla driving in Flores to make it 1-0. Ike Davis doubled with one out in the fourth - his third two-base hit in two games - and scored on Buck's second hit of the game, a two-out single.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Rockies placed LF Carlos Gonzalez on the disabled list - retroactive to Monday - with a sprained right middle finger and recalled LHP Jeff Francis from Triple-A Colorado Springs. Gonzalez, who is tied for second in the National League with 26 home runs, was originally hurt July 7, but the injury flared up four times since, causing him to miss eight games and parts of three others. ... Harvey, who has a 3.52 ERA in four starts against Miami this season and a 1.84 ERA in 19 outings against all other teams, was struck in the leg by Blackmon's single with two outs in the ninth inning as the ball caromed into right field.
