Dodgers 8, Rockies 0:
Adrian Gonzalez and Yasiel Puig each homered and Clayton Kershaw tossed a four-hit shutout as visiting Los Angeles won the opener of the three-game series.

Puig went 3-for-5 and came within a triple of hitting for the cycle for the Dodgers, who have won nine of their last 10 games and moved out of last place in the National League West for the first time since May 5. Kershaw (7-5) recorded his 11th career complete game and had eight strikeouts and no walks on 108 pitches.

The Dodgers scored two times in the second and added to their lead in the third on Gonzalez’s two-run homer off Roy Oswalt (0-3), who has struggled in each of his three starts for the Rockies. The veteran right-hander yielded five runs on nine hits over five frames.

Juan Uribe singled in a run in the fourth and Puig led off the seventh with his eighth home run off Adam Ottavino to give the Dodgers a 6-0 lead. The 22-year-old Puig is hitting .443 with 17 RBIs since being called up June 3.

Rockies right fielder Michael Cuddyer went 0-for-4, ending his career-best hitting streak at 27 games. He flied out to right field to finish the game, snapping his streak of reaching base safely at a franchise-record 46 straight games.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Rockies CF Dexter Fowler, who hasn’t played since last Tuesday with a sore right wrist, was placed on the 15-day disabled list. … Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez went 2-for-5 to extend his hitting streak to 13 games. … Kershaw recorded the sixth no-walk shutout in Coors Field history.
