: Mat Latos tied a career high with 13 strikeouts in 7 2/3 spectacular innings as visiting Cincinnati salvaged the finale of a three-game series.

Shin-Soo Choo hit a solo homer and Brandon Phillips had a two-run blast - both in the first inning - to set the table for the Reds, who improved to 30-22 all-time in Chase Field. Zack Cozart, who doubled and scored on Phillips' home run, added a sacrifice fly in the second to make it 4-0.

Latos (7-1) held Arizona scoreless until he was chased by Miguel Montero's RBI single with two outs in the eighth. He yielded six hits and struck out the side in the third, fourth and sixth innings while improving to 3-0 with a 1.60 ERA in his career at Arizona.

Manny Parra got Jason Kubel to ground to first to end the Diamondbacks threat in the eighth, stranding two runners. Aroldis Chapman, who failed to get an out in blowing the save Saturday night, gave up a run in the ninth on a Wil Nieves RBI single before picking up his 19th save.

Randall Delgado (0-1) gave up three earned runs in five innings to get the loss for the Diamondbacks, who had won four straight.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Choo's homer was his fourth leadoff blast of the season. ... Latos previously struck out 13 batters June 25, 2012, against Milwaukee. ... Following a day off, Cincinnati continues an eight-game road trip at Oakland on Tuesday. Arizona also takes a day off before opening a series at Washington.
