Orioles 3, Blue Jays 1: Danny Valencia had the go-ahead two-run double and Miguel Gonzalez pitched effectively into the sixth inning as visiting Baltimore took two of three from Toronto.

Gonzalez (10-7) allowed a run on six hits over 5 1/3 innings to establish a single-season career high in victories. The win moved Baltimore to within 2 1/2 games of Tampa Bay and Texas in the American League wild-card race.

Toronto starter Mark Buehrle (11-9) was charged with three runs - two earned - on six hits over five frames as he dropped his second straight decision. The defeat clinched the Blue Jays' third straight non-winning season.

Adam Lind put Toronto on the board with a second-deck shot to right field in the second, but the Orioles responded the following inning on Valencia's two-run double to left. Chris Davis extended the lead in the fourth by drawing a bases-loaded walk from Buehrle.

Gonzalez and four relievers shut the Blue Jays down the rest of the way. Kevin Gausman, Francisco Rodriguez and Tommy Hunter combined for 2 2/3 frames while Jim Johnson worked the ninth to secure his 45th save.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Davis has recorded an RBI in seven straight games against Toronto. ... The bases-loaded walk was just the second Buehrle has issued since 2010. ... The teams meet for a final time Sept. 24-26 at Camden Yards.
