Orioles 8, Angels 4: J.J. Hardy and Manny Machado each hit two-run homers as visiting Baltimore defeated Los Angeles for the third time in four games.

Jason Hammel (5-1) gave up four runs and nine hits in six innings to win his fourth consecutive decision. The victory was Hammel’s first against the Angels in four career starts.

Adam Jones had a run-scoring double in the first but Los Angeles scored three runs in the bottom of the inning on RBI singles by Alberto Callaspo, Howie Kendrick and Hank Conger. Hardy tied the game at 3 on his homer in the top of the fourth.

Mike Trout put the Angels back on top with a homer to center in the fourth before Machado smashed the go-ahead homer to left in the fifth. Chris Davis added a run-scoring single in the eighth and Ryan Flaherty delivered a two-run single later in the inning to give Baltimore a four-run lead.

Angels starter Jerome Williams (1-1) allowed five runs and four hits in 4 1/3 innings in his first start of the season.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
