Reds 4, Cubs 3 (10): Scott Rolen hit a game-winning sacrifice fly in the 10th inning as host Cincinnati salvaged a stunning split of a rain-shortened two-game series.

Zack Cozart opened the 10th with a single and moved to third when reliever Rafael Dolis threw wildly on Chris Heisey's sacrifice bunt to set the stage for Rolen's game-winning fly ball.

The Reds came back with three runs in the ninth against Cubs closer Carlos Marmol, who imploded after starter Ryan Dempster handed him a 3-0 lead with eight innings of three-hit ball.

Dolis (1-2) took the loss with 1 1/3 innings of relief. He surrendered the tying run in the ninth on a double-play grounder after replacing Marmol with the bases loaded and no outs.

Marmol walked the first two batters on nine pitchers before an error forced in one run and a single by Jay Bruce loaded the bases. He forced in a second run with another walk and was yanked from the game.

Dempster got a no-decision on his 35th birthday despite a brilliant performance in his first start coming off the disabled list.

Bryan LaHair homered for the third straight game, one of three solo shots by the Cubs off Reds starter Homer Bailey. Starlin Castro and Geovany Soto also went deep for the Cubs.

During an eight-game hitting streak, LaHair has five homers and seven RBIs.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Chicago clubbed five homers in the two-game set after hitting a major league-low nine in April. ... Dempster allowed only three hits while striking out six and walking one to lower his ERA to a miniscule 0.95. ... Bailey, who turned 26 Thursday, surrendered three homers for the second time this season. ... According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the game marked the first time in baseball history that opposing pitchers shared a birthday. ... The Cubs have gone deep in four straight games and posted back-to-back multi-homer games after going without one from April 13. ... Cubs reliever Kerry Wood was activated from the disabled list Thursday. The Cubs demoted pitchers Randy Wells and John Maine to Triple-A Iowa to make room for Dempster and Wood.
