Marlins 4, Mets 3 (11): Donovan Solano chopped a single through a drawn-in infield in the 11th inning as host Miami beat New York for the second consecutive game.

Jose Reyes led off the 11th with his third hit of the game, a triple to right-center. After two international walks and a strikeout by Collin McHugh (0-4), Solano fisted a bouncer up the middle for the game-winning hit.

Chad Gaudin (4-2), scheduled to start for Miami in Wednesday’s season finale, pitched a scoreless 11th for the victory.

New York rallied with three runs in the eighth to tie the game. David Wright singled home the first run and Daniel Murphy scored on Heath Bell’s wild pitch. Scott Hairston, who finished with four hits, delivered an infield single that scored Wright to tie the game.

New York starter R.A. Dickey fell short in his bid to win his 21st game, allowing solo homers to Gorkys Hernandez and Rob Brantly. Dickey went six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits with no walks and eight strikeouts.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Dickey, whose 2.73 ERA leads the NL entering the season’s final day, said after the game he will undergo surgery on Oct. 18 to repair an abdominal tear he suffered in April. … Adam Greenberg, signed to a one-day contract by the Marlins on Tuesday, struck out on three pitches against Dickey in the sixth in his first major-league at-bat since being beaned seven years ago in his only plate appearance in the majors. … Miami starter Jacob Turner held the Mets to one run on three hits in 7 2/3 innings, walking two and striking out four.
