Braves 4, Marlins 3: Freddie Freeman hit a two-run walk-off homer to dead center field in the bottom of the ninth as Atlanta clinched a National League playoff spot in dramatic fashion at Turner Field

Chipper Jones led off the bottom of the ninth with a double to right-center field off Mike Dunn (0-3). Jones advanced to third on a wild pitch, and Freeman drilled a fastball to send the Braves to the postseason for the second time in three years.

Donovan Solano hit the first two homers of his career off red-hot Atlanta starter Kris Medlen as Miami carried a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the ninth.

Medlen allowed three runs on five hits with no walks and eight strikeouts in seven innings. The Braves have won Medlen’s last 22 starts, tying the major-league record set by Whitey Ford and Carl Hubbell.

Jones' double in the ninth tied Roberto Alomar for 57th on the all-time hit list wit 2,724 hits. Jones scored Atlanta's first run and drove home Jason Heyward on a sacrifice fly in the sixth. Craig Kimbrel (3-1) pitched the ninth for the victory as the Braves pulled within four games of NL East leader Washington.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami starter Nathan Eovaldi allowed four hits and two runs with two walks and eight strikeouts in six innings. … Medlen had allowed just three homers in 70 2/3 innings as a starter entering the game. … Both teams hope to get key pieces of their outfield back Wednesday: Atlanta CF Michael Bourn (thumb) and Miami OF Giancarlo Stanton (intercostal muscle).
