Orioles 11, Yankees 5: Chris Davis belted his first career grand slam to highlight a seven-run second inning as visiting Baltimore overcame an early five-run deficit to throttle New York.

Nick Markakis launched a two-run homer and Wilson Betemit and Omar Quintanilla drove in a pair apiece for the Orioles, who won their third straight to move within 5 1/2 games of the slumping Yankees in the American League East. New York has dropped four in a row and nine of its last 12 contests.

Chris Tillman (4-1) rebounded from a brutal five-run first inning to post his third straight victory. Tillman settled down to pitch four scoreless frames while striking out three.

After Robinson Cano's two-run homer highlighted the Yankees' fast start, Baltimore ignited its offense at the expense of Ivan Nova (10-5). Mark Reynolds' ground-rule double put the Orioles on the board before Quintanilla extended his hitting streak to seven games with a two-run single.

Davis capped the uprising by depositing a breaking ball from Nova off the top of the wall and into the bullpen in left-center field. The blast was Davis' 18th of the season - and third in six games.

Betemit added to Nova's woes with an RBI double in the third inning and a run-scoring single in the fifth. Nova's night ended after yielding a career-worst nine runs on 10 hits in five innings.
