Indians 6, Orioles 2: Justin Masterson pitched seven strong innings and Shelley Duncan homered for the second straight game and had two RBIs as visiting Cleveland took three of four from slumping Baltimore.

Masterson (5-7) retired the first 12 batters before All-Star Adam Jones reached on an error by shortstop Jason Donald leading off the fifth inning. Masterson allowed two runs (one earned), five hits and struck out seven.

Aaron Cunningham also homered for the Indians, who have won seven of their last 10 games at Camden Yards and have hit 18 homers during that span.

Brian Matusz (5-10) lost his fifth straight start and joined Seattle’s Hector Noesi as 10-game losers in baseball. Matusz allowed five runs (four earned) and seven hits in four-plus innings.

Jones had two hits and an RBI double and Ryan Flaherty added a run-scoring single for the Orioles, who have lost nine of their last 12 games.

Duncan, who recorded three hits, homered in the second inning and Cunningham followed in the third to put Cleveland ahead 2-0.

The Indians made it 5-0 with three runs in the fifth highlighted by RBI doubles by Duncan and Casey Kotchman. Lou Marson was awarded a sacrifice fly, which plated Kotchman, when right fielder Chris Davis dropped his fly ball but recovered to force out Donald at second base.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Baltimore closer Jim Johnson and catcher Matt Wieters join center fielder Jones on the American League All-Star team. Right-hander Jason Hammel is one of five players on the ballot for the 34th man vote. Cleveland shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera and closer Chris Perez also made the team. … Jim Thome, who is tied with Sammy Sosa for seventh on the career home run list with 609, went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in his Orioles debut. … Cleveland catcher Carlos Santana missed the entire series with a back injury. … The Indians improved to 8-16 against left-handers, with all three wins in the series coming against lefties. … Baltimore’s Wilson Betemit extended his hitting streak to 11 games and is 17-for-36 during that span.
