Rangers 10, Orioles 3: Josh Hamilton became the 16th player in major league history to homer four times in a game and finished 5-for-5 with a double and eight RBIs as visiting Texas crushed Baltimore for the second night in a row.

Hamilton, who had never hit more than two home runs in a game, took over the major league lead with 14 blasts. He tops the majors with 36 RBIs and is batting .406.

Adrian Beltre added a solo homer and Elvis Andrus was on base for all four of Hamilton’s shots for the Rangers, who have outscored the Orioles 24-6 in the first two of a four-game set.

Jake Arrieta (2-3) went eight scoreless innings against the New York Yankees last week but did not have the same success against Texas. Hamilton began his onslaught in the first inning with a two-run blast to center and went to the opposite field for another two-run blast off Arrieta in the third.

Baltimore brought on left-hander Zach Phillips to face Hamilton in the seventh and the slugger took an 0-1 breaking ball out to center.

It was Darren O’Day’s turn in the eighth, and Hamilton took an 0-2 offering from the side-armer deep over the center field wall to become the first major leaguer since Carlos Delgado in 2003 to reach four homers in one game.

Lost in the shuffle was Neftali Feliz (2-1), who struck out eight and allowed one run in six strong innings to pick up the win.
