Slumping Colby Rasmus went 4-for-5 with three RBIs and clubbed the go-ahead triple to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 10-3 victory over the host Colorado Rockies on Friday.

Entering the contest with a streak of 20 consecutive hitless at-bats, Rasmus reached safely in his first four trips to the plate to help St. Louis win for the ninth time in 11 games.

Rasmus broke a 3-3 tie in the sixth inning with a triple to center off Ubaldo Jimenez (0-5) to score Tyler Greene. Rasmus delivered a two-run triple in the eighth to stretch the Cardinals’ lead to five.

Yadier Molina drove in Rasmus after both triples – in the sixth on an infield out and with a sacrifice fly in the seventh.

Albert Pujols had run-scoring singles in both the first and third innings. The Cardinals pounded out 19 hits with seven players accumulating two or more.

The Rockies, who lost for the eighth time in 10 games, scored twice in the second on Ty Wigginton’s single and Chris Iannetta’s double. Carlos Gonzalez delivered a run-scoring single to tie the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the third.

Cardinals starter Jake Westbrook (5-3) gave up three runs and five hits in five innings and the winless Jimenez allowed six runs and 12 hits in six innings.
