David Wright ripped an RBI double down the third-base line in the eighth inning and R.A. Dickey took a no-hit bid into the seventh as the New York Mets handed the Philadelphia Phillies their seventh consecutive setback with a 2-1 triumph in the opener of Saturday's doubleheader.

Valentino Pascucci belted his first major-league homer in seven years for New York, which posted its second win after dropping nine of 12.

With the game tied at 1-1 in the eighth, Ruben Tejada singled and stole second base. Wright then sent Tejada home with a shot which just sailed over third base and into left field.

Dickey had a perfect game going into the sixth before Carlos Ruiz worked a 10-pitch walk. His no-hit bid came to an end when Shane Victorino belted a one-out double in the seventh. Victorino was hitless in his previous 20 at-bats.

Ryan Howard deposited the next pitch to shallow center to plate Victorino for Philadelphia, which has not won since clinching its fifth consecutive National League East title last Saturday. The seven-game skid is the Phillies' first since 2006.

Brad Lidge (0-2) relieved starter Cole Hamels, who allowed one run on four hits in seven innings to settle for the no-decision.

Bobby Parnell (4-6) recorded the final out of the eighth to secure the win.
