Aramis Ramirez's two-run single with two outs in the ninth inning gave the visiting Chicago Cubs a 5-4 win over the New York Mets on Saturday.
Chicago's rally came after the Mets scored four times in the eighth inning to take a 4-3 lead. Jason Bay's two-run single put New York ahead, but the lead didn't last long.
Third baseman David Wright's fielding error - New York's season-high fourth of the contest - and Bryan LaHair's pinch-hit double put runners on second and third against Bobby Parnell (3-6).
Starlin Castro grounded out and Reed Johnson struck out, but the Mets chose to pitch to Ramirez with first base open. That strategy backfired when he lined a single to right, scoring two runs.
The Mets' four errors - two by Wright and two by Jose Reyes - led to three unearned runs.
Randy Wells took a 3-0 lead into the eighth, but was pulled after Reyes' RBI double. Kerry Wood (3-5) gave up Wright's RBI single and Bay's two-run single.
Carlos Marmol pitched the ninth for his 34th save of the season.
