Cameron Maybin homered and Nick Hundley hit two triples as the host San Diego Padres continued their success against the New York Mets with a 6-1 victory on Tuesday.

Cory Luebke (5-6) gave up one run on five hits over six innings for the Padres, who have won 18 of their last 28 games against the Mets.

The Mets' Jonathon Niese (11-10) gave up three runs on 10 hits over six innings.

Maybin is two homers short of becoming the fourth Padre in franchise history with at least 10 home runs and 30 stolen bases in a season.

Maybin, who is batting .321 with four RBIs and seven runs in six games against the Mets this season, has been successful on 91 percent (31-for-34) of his stolen base attempts.

Mets pitcher Mike Pelfrey made a rare relief appearance in the eighth after exiting his last start early with a minor injury. He faced three batters and allowed two hits.
