Pablo Sandoval extended his career-high hitting streak to 20 games, scored a run and drove in another as the host San Francisco Giants recorded a 3-1 victory over the New York Mets on Saturday.

Tim Lincecum (7-7) tossed six solid innings and Nate Schierholtz had an RBI single in the first as National League West-leading San Francisco won for the third time in four games.

Lincecum allowed one run on four hits and struck out six to improve to 3-1 in his career against the Mets. Lincecum is 50-4 in his career when the Giants score at least three runs when he starts.

Santiago Casilla, Javier Lopez and Sergio Romo combined to record the final nine outs for San Francisco.

Daniel Murphy had an RBI double in the first for New York, which fell for only the second time in seven outings.

Chris Capuano (8-8) saw his three-game winning streak come to an end after yielding two runs on four hits in six innings.
