Carlos Lee homered and also recorded the 2,000th hit of his career to help the Houston Astros to a 7-3 victory over the visiting New York Mets on Saturday.

Bill Hall and Matt Downs also homered and J.A. Happ (3-4) pitched six solid innings for Houston, which won for just the second time in seven games.

Lee’s first-inning single off Mets starter R.A. Dickey made him just the ninth active player with 2,000 hits and 300 career homers. His seventh-inning homer provided Houston a 7-2 lead.

The Astros pounced on Dickey (1-5) for four runs and six hits in the opening inning. Michael Bourn led off with a triple and scored on Clint Barmes’ groundout.

Brett Wallace drove in the second run with a double and both Chris Johnson and Hall delivered run-scoring singles later in the inning. Hall and Downs both hit solo homers in the sixth to boost Houston’s lead to 6-2.

Happ allowed two runs and five hits while winning his second straight decision and ending New York’s three-game winning streak.

The Mets scored on Justin Turner’s RBI-single in the third, Daniel Murphy’s leadoff homer in the fourth and Jose Reyes' ninth-inning single.

Dickey gave up six runs and 11 hits in 5 1/3 innings.
