Lucas Duda staked R.A. Dickey to an early lead, and the knuckleballer made it hold up as the New York Mets won their third consecutive series with a 1-0 triumph over the Florida Marlins on Wednesday at Sun Life Stadium.

Duda sliced a double into the left-field corner with one out in the first inning, scoring Jose Reyes from first.

That was enough for Dickey (8-11), who won his third straight start and posted his ninth consecutive quality outing. He has won all three starts against the Marlins this season and hasn't allowed an earned run over 20 innings in those games.

Dickey worked out of trouble early and often. He stranded runners in scoring position in each of the first four innings, then faced the minimum for three innings before giving way to the bullpen.

The Marlins had the tying run at third with two outs in the eighth, but Josh Stinson struck out Gaby Sanchez to preserve the shutout. Manny Acosta worked the ninth for his first save.

After Duda's RBI double in the first, Marlins starter Brad Hand (1-6) matched Dickey the rest of the way. He didn't allow another hit until Jason Bay's two-out double in the sixth.
