Two lengthy rain delays prevented Dillon Gee from winning his eighth game, but it didn’t stop the visiting New York Mets from posting their second straight victory, 4-0 over the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday night.

The start was delayed 1:22 because of rain. Gee (7-0) was cruising as the Mets led 3-0 after four innings before the rain returned and delayed the game another 1:11. Gee did not return following the second stoppage despite only allowing one hit.

Three relievers followed to complete the two-hitter. D.J. Carrasco and Bobby Parnell (1-1) each worked two innings, and closer Francisco Rodriguez worked the ninth in a non-save situation.

Angel Pagan hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning off Tim Hudson (5-6).
