Brandon Morrow pitched into the seventh inning to win his fourth straight decision as the host Toronto Blue Jays prevailed 7-1 over the New York Yankees on Friday night.

Morrow (6-4) kept the Yankees off-balance all night, allowing a lone run on four hits over 6 2/3 innings. He walked two and struck out six to remain unbeaten since June 11.

He had plenty of help offensively as Toronto battered Freddy Garcia (7-7) to roll past New York for the second night in a row. Yunel Escobar had three hits and drove in a pair of runs, while Travis Snider and Jose Molina each had a pair of hits and an RBI.

Snider's performance improved him to .421 (16-for-38) in nine games since being recalled from Triple A.

Eric Thames added two hits and two runs for Toronto, but left midway through the game with cramping in his left leg.

Garcia was roughed up for a season-high six runs - five earned - on seven hits over five innings. It was the first time since June 7 the veteran righty had failed to pitch into the sixth.
