Down to their last out, the New York Mets rallied to tie the game off Mariano Rivera and went on to salvage the finale of the Subway Series with a 3-2 victory in 10 innings over the cross-town Yankees on Sunday.

Jason Bay's bases-loaded single off Hector Noesi in the 10th inning gave the Mets a walkoff win.

The setback halted the Yankees' seven-game winning streak, although they still finished 13-5 in interleague play.

Trying to protect a 2-1 lead, Rivera got the first two outs in the ninth before the Mets awoke.

Bay walked, advanced to third on Lucas Duda's single and scored on pinch-hitter Ronny Paulino's single to right. It was Rivera's fourth blown save in 25 chances this season and cost starter Freddy Garcia his eighth victory of the campaign.

Yankees leadoff hitter Brett Gardner tripled in the eighth and scored on Curtis Granderson’s sacrifice fly to snap a 1-1 tie.

The Mets played without star shortstop Jose Reyes, who left Saturday’s game with tightness in his left hamstring. Replacement Ruben Tejada went 0-for-4 on Sunday.

Daniel Murphy went 3-for-5 with an RBI for the Mets. Knuckleballer R.A. Dickey allowed one run over five innings before leaving with an injured left glute.

The game began after an 1-hour, 38-minute rain delay.
