Mark Teixeira belted a pair of two-run homers to power the New York Yankees to a 12-4 romp over the visiting Texas Rangers on Wednesday night.

Robinson Cano hit a three-run shot and Eduardo Núñez and Ramiro Pena added solo blasts to give New York its fifth win in six games and a major league-leading 103 homers.

Ivan Nova labored (6-4) through 5 2/3 innings for his second straight win, allowing four runs on seven hits to send the Rangers to their season-high fourth consecutive defeat.

Teixeira tied teammate Curtis Granderson and Toronto's Jose Bautista for the American League lead with 21 homers as the Yankees scored six straight runs to erase a 4-3 deficit.

Rangers starter Derek Holland (5-2) suffered his first defeat since losing at New York on April 16. He allowed six runs on seven hits in five innings to fall to 0-4 lifetime against the Yankees.

Josh Hamilton had three hits and an RBI and Ian Kinsler homered for Texas.
