Paul Konerko belted a go-ahead two-run home run in the eight inning and Brent Lillibridge made a pair of outstanding catches in right field to end the game as the visiting Chicago White Sox beat the New York Yankees 3-2 on Tuesday night.

With runners on first and second and one out, Lillibridge robbed Alex Rodriguez of extra bases with a lunging catch against the wall, and dove to his left to take away a potential game-winning hit by Robinson Cano.

Gavin Floyd (3-1) went eight-plus innings and allowed two runs on three hits. He struck out 10 and walked one.

Konerko provided the big blow with his sixth homer, a two-run blast off Rafael Soriano (1-1) that gave Chicago its second straight win following a stretch of 10 losses in 11 games.

Sergio Santos picked up his second save in as many nights.

Cano and Brett Gardner belted solo homers for New York, which has managed only seven hits in dropping the first two of the four-game series.

The Yankees wasted a strong start by Ivan Nova, who went 6 1/3 innings and limited the White Sox to one run on five hits, struck out three and walked two.
